The Raspberry Pi is a small credit card-sized computer that was initially developed in 2012 by the Raspberry Pi Foundation based in the UK. The original purpose of this tiny PC was to promote the teaching basic computer science in schools and developing countries. While the original Raspberry Pi and Raspberry Pi 2 were manufactured in several board configurations through licensed manufacturing agreements with Newark element14 (Premier Farnell), RS Components and Egoman, the third and final generation of this product model 3 B+ was released in April 2018. The hardware specs and requirements are the same across all manufacturers with closed-source firmware.
The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is the final revision in the Raspberry Pi 3 range.
